  onedirect,theotherreflected,andthereflectedoneisasdistinctasthedirect。ThecompositionalsobearstestimonytoBrowning’sownsoul-healthfulness。Thoughthespiritualbearingofthingsistheall-in-all,inhispoetry,therobustnessofhisnature,thefulnessandsplendidequilibriumofhislife,protecthimagainstaninarticulatemysticism。Browningis,inthewidestanddeepestsenseoftheword,thehealthiestofalllivingpoets;
  andingeneralconstitutionthemostShakespearian。

  PerhapsthemostcomprehensivepassageinBrowning’spoetry,expressiveofhisidealofacompletemanundertheconditionsofearth-life,isfoundin`Colombe’sBirthday’,ActIV。
