  Thisisthecircularblockorlumpofcountry,onthenorthornorthwestsideofwhichFriedrichnowlies,andwhichwillbecome,helittlethinkshowmemorableonthemorrow。Overtheheights,immediatelyeastwardofFriedrich,thereisakindofhollow,orscooped—outplace;shallowvalleyofsomeextent,whichdeservesnoticeagainstto—morrow:butingeneralthegroundislazilyspherical,andwithoutnoticeablehollowsorvalleyswhenfairlyawayfromtheRiver。Adullbluntlumpofcountry;madeofsandandmud,——mayhavebeengrassyonce,withbroomonit,inthepastoraltimes;isnowunderpoorplough—husbandry,arableorscratchableinallparts,andlooksrathermiserableinwinter—time。Novestigeofhedgeonit,ofshruborbush;onetree,uglybutbig,whichmayhavebeenaliveinFriedrich’stime,standsnotfarfromRossbachHamlet;one,andnomore,discoverableintheseareas。
