  Therewasnoneedofguile。Theschoolwastoobusycheeringthedrawnmatch。Ithungroundthelavatoriesregardlessofmuddybootswhiletheteamwashed。ItcheeredCrandallminorwheneveritcaughtsightofhim,anditcheeredmorewildlythaneverafterprayers,becausetheOldBoysineveningdress,openlytwirlingtheirmustaches,attended,andinsteadofstandingwiththemasters,rangedthemselvesalongthewallimmediatelybeforetheprefects;andtheHeadcalledthemover,too——majors,minors,andtertiuses,aftertheiroldnames。
  "Yes,it’sallveryfine,"hesaidtohisguestsafterdinner,"buttheboysaregettingalittleoutofhand。Therewillbetroubleandsorrowlater,I’mafraid。
