Thecorrectedparagraphwhichappearedinthe"Informer"thenextmorningseemedtoattractlittlepublicattention,thegreaterexcitementbeingthesuicideoftheimprisonedbullyandtheeffectitmighthaveupontheprosecutionofothersuspectedparties,againstwhomthedeadmanhadbeenexpectedtobearwitness。
Mr。BreezewasunabletoobtainanyinformationregardingthedesperadoBodine'sassociatesandrelations;hiscorrectionoftheparagraphhadmadetheothermembersofthestaffbelievehehadsecretandsuperiorinformationregardingthefugitive,andhethuswasestoppedfromaskingquestions。ButhefelthimselfjustifiednowindemandingfullerinformationfromRobertsattheearliestopportunity。
