  ItwasinvainfortheengagingFerdinandtobringLordDecimustolookatthebronzehorsesnearMrMerdle。ThenMrMerdleevaded,andwanderedaway。ItwasinvainforhimtobringMrMerdletoLordDecimustotellhimthehistoryoftheuniqueDresdenvases。
