  ForaninstantRhodaGrayhesitated-thereseemedsomethingfamiliaraboutthevoice-thensheunlockedthedoor,andretreatedtowardthebed。

  RhodaGraywatchedhimwithpuckeredbrow,asheplacedtheginbottlewithitscandleonthefloor,andappropriatedthechair。
