  Themotion,too,aseasyasitwasswift,seemedmorelikeflyingthroughtheairthanridingontheearth,andwasattendedwithnounpleasantsensation,savetheawenaturallyfeltbyonewhoismovingatsuchastonishingspeed,andthedifficultyofbreathingoccasionedbytheirpassingthroughtheairsorapidly。

  TheScottishknight,whohadnowbeguntorecoverhisbreathandpowersofattention,couldnothelpacknowledginginhishearttheadvantagepossessedbytheseEasternwarriorsinaraceofanimals,alikeproperforadvanceorretreat,andsoadmirablyadaptedtothelevelandsandydesertsofArabiaandSyria。ButhedidnotchoosetoaugmenttheprideoftheMoslembyacquiescinginhisproudclaimofsuperiority,andthereforesufferedtheconversationtodrop,andlookingaroundhimcouldnow,atthemoremoderatepaceatwhichtheymoved,distinguishthathewasinacountrynotunknowntohim。

  andSirKennethlayextendedatthefeetofElHakim,toallappearance,butforhisdeeprespiration,asinanimateacorpseasiflifehadactuallydeparted。
