ashield;andsuchbeinghewhomyouseek,eventhoughthelightoftheProphethathnotreachedhim,frommehewillonlyhavelove,favour,andregard。’’
Theanchorite,whomIwouldnowvisit,’’saidthewarlikepilgrim,is,Ihaveheard,nopriest;butwereheofthatanointedandsacredorder,Iwouldprovewithmygoodlance,againstpaynimandinfidel’’-
