AnotherfeatureoftheZiscaberg,alreadyhintedat,isverynotable:thatoftheMoldauskirtingitsnorthernbase,andscarpingtheHill,onthatsidetoo,intoaprecipitous,orverysteepcondition。Moldauhavingarrivedfromsouthward,fairlypasttheendofZiscaberg,had,sotospeak,madeuphismindtogorighteastward,quarryinghiswaythroughtheloweruplandsthere,Andheproceedsaccordingly,huggingthenorthernbaseofZiscaberg,andmakingitsteepenough;butfinds,inthecourseofamileorso,thathecannomore;uplandbeingstillrock—built,notunderminablefarther;andsoisobligedtowindroundagain,tonorthward,andfinallystraightwestward,thewayhecame,orparalleltothewayhecame;andhaseffectedthatgreatHorse—shoeHollowweheardoflately。AnextremelyprettyHollow,andcurioustolookupon;prettyvillas,gardens,anda"BelvederePark,"laidoutinthebottompart;withgreenmountain—wallsrisingallroundit,andasilverringofriveratthebaseofthem:lengthofHorse—shoe,fromheeltotoe,orfromwesttoeast,isperhapsamile;breadth,fromheeltoheel,perhapshalfasmuch。
