  Knowestthouthelandwherebloomthelemontrees,Anddarklygleamthegoldenoranges?
  Agentlewindblowsdownfromthatbluesky;
  Calmstandsthemyrtleandthelaurelhigh。
  Knowestthoutheland?Sofarandfair!
  Thou,whomIlove,andIwillwanderthere。
  Knowestthouthehousewithallitsroomsaglow,Andshininghallandcolumnedportico?
  Themarblestatuesstandandlookatme。
  Alas,poorchild,whathavetheydonetothee?

  ForyearsandyearsIhaveslumbered,Andslumberwasheavyandsweet,ButthelastfewmomentsarenumberedLiketramplingfeetthatbeat。
