KunzendorfHeights,whicharenotoftheHills,butinfrontofthem,withastripofflatstillintervening;——these,wesaid,Daunhadatoncequitted:andthesearenowFriedrich’s;——butyieldhimaverycomplexprospectatpresent。AlineofopposingHeights,Burkersdorf,Ludwigsdorf,Leuthmannsdorf,bristlingwithabundantcannon;behindisthemultiplexseaofHills,risinghigherandhigher,totheridgeoftheEulenberginGlatzCountry10or12

FriedrichbeginstoperceivethatBraunauwillnotdo;thathemustcontrivesomeotherplan。GeneralWiedhestillleavestoprosecutetheBraunauscheme:perhapsthereisstillsomechanceinit;
atlowestitwillkeepDaun’sattentionthitherward。AndWiedperseveresuponBraunau;andBraunauprovingimpossible,pushespastitdeeperintoBohemia,Daunloftilyregardlessofhim。
Wied’smarchesandattemptswereofapprovedquality;
